These Super Pet Hi-Bac litter pans are more expensive than some of the pans I can get at my local pet store, but they have significantly higher back and side walls even than other other “high back” litter pans, producing better bunny litter box results than any other pan I’ve tried. Five stars, and well worth the extra money.
Help answer the question about ferret litter
How do you successfully litter box train a ferret.?
I am trying to litter box train a 1 week old ferret. How do I do this? Is it already too late?
Baby ferrets need a lot of tender care. They are able to leave their mothers at six weeks old, but need extra care and attention from us in ensure that they will be healthy and prosper. You should learn about caring for your baby ferret before it is born. The female ferret, also known as a jill, must not be handled while she is giving birth. Touching a birthing female ferret is dangerous to her young, and she may become hostile, putting you in a risky situation.
A ferret litter usually consists of seven or eight babies that are called kits. The kits are born blind, have a pink complexion and a almost totally hairless. They beginning of their lives is spent primary eating, sleeping, and growing. It usually takes around twenty days for the kits' color to get darker and then their eyes also start to open. Then when they finally reach six weeks of age they can be separated from their mothers. You should take them to the vet to get their ferret litter first series of vaccinations at about seven weeks old. You should also consider having them de-scented and fixed.
A kit needs to be weaned off their old diet. When you get your new kit, you should ask the breeder what brand of food the ferret has been consuming before you think about switching. If you make up your mind to use the same brand food, you should soften the food in warm water for five or ten minutes before a feeding. If decide to switch the brand of ferret food, you will need to buy the old brand and then gradually mix the new food with it. This will help to introduce the new food into their diet. Quite a while ago ferrets were only fed cat food but now there is some good quality ferret foods available. Ferrets, especially babies, must have a higher quality of protein, which most cat foods do not offer. Whatever food you buy, be sure that it includes at least 35% protein and 20% fat. Well balanced fats like poultry fat, containing essential fatty acids, is best for kit. Baby ferrets must be provided with water all the time and it needs to be changed at least once a day.
Your baby ferret should be provided with a spacious clean ferret cage so they will be cozy, safe and have lots of room to move around. A ferret cage allows the ferret, who is very active, to have the space needed to play safely. Try to avoid metal bottom cages because the are easily corroded. If you decide to buy a cage with plastic coated wire, be sure that your baby ferret does not chew on it. Baby ferrets also need lot of places to hide. They enjoy soft padding to burrow into and sleep in. Their bedding must be checked often to assure that they are not eating it, because this could cause a blockage in their intestinal track. Baby ferrets needs lots of love, attention and care. They are extremely active and require proper care when they are kits, in order for them to have a safe, long, happy life.

I have used this and the fluffy litter. They are both of equal quality. This litter does a good job of masking odor and is easy to clean up. The price for the larger quantity is a great deal, you won’t find better elsewhere.
This is a really good price for this litter! As long as they don’t kill you in the shipping, I recommend buying this. I think that this litter works best if you just put a few scoop in each corner of their litter box (because they only go in corners) and change the litter out every day. This way, you are not wasting litter in the middle of the box, and by changing every day, you reduce unwanted smells
With four ferrets, we go through litter at a pretty rapid rate. I’ve done my research regarding price and this is the absolute cheapest price there is for this type litter. Very pleased with the speed in which it was delivered and will certainly be ordering from them again when we need more.Marshall Ferret Litter, 50-Pound Bag
My rabbits are good about their litter habits but sometimes they’d sit in their litter boxes with their rears hanging over the edge. This eliminates those misses. Could be bigger. Good for rabbits 5 lbs or less. Perfect size for ferrets.
This Litter Pan is very big and allows for a lot of litter and space for the ferrets. I do have one complaint though, and that is with the lock-on feature.
You screw the back to he cage wall with a handheld turning knob. (Which is quite easy and convenient to use) However, and I’m not sure how many other people have this problem, but my ferret, Chewbecca, likes to pull the litter pan away from the wall and ends up pulling the pan off of the wall fastening knob thing. Which takes a lot of force, but is still annoying.
So the only thing I’d improve is making the fastening piece more securely attached to the pan.
I brought two of these to go in my ferret’s cage. One to go on bottom and one on top. I was shocked at how big they really were! I knew they would be big but not THAT big. Which the size was really nice because my ferret is on the large size. The only problem that had with the litter pan was the locking system that locks to the cage. As soon as i attached both litter pans to the cage they broke. My ferret doesn’t try to move his litterbox so the locking system not being there wasn’t really a problem. But for anyone with ferret(s) who like to move their litterbox around i would still highly recommend this litter pan. All you would have to do is drill two holes at the top of the litter pan and use zip ties to attach it to the cage. The back is really high and the front is low enough to have plenty of litter but not so low that the litter can fall out easily. Even though the locking system is crappy i still give this 5 stars because of how big it is and low price compared to other litter pans.
**On a side note i’ve read on other websites where other people who bought this litter pan had problems with the sticker not coming off easy and making the back of the pan sticky as a result. I didn’t have this problem because when pulled the sticker off i went really slow, so the back isn’t sticky at all**
This pan was the perfect idea for my guineas. So I bought two. I got two different colors which surprised me: a reddish color and a greenish color. Which turned out for the best since I put one color in the girls’ cage and a different color in the boys’ cage. It worked really well for everyone except for my own dumb fault. I used too much force when I was adjusting the boy’s pan and broke the plastic peg piece off of the pan itself so that the bolt doesn’t stay in the boys’ pan. I don’t really think it was a manufacturing flaw or anything, it was just me doing something klutzy at the wrong angle. But it still worked great as a pan for the boys’ cage since you can completely remove the bolt and it sits flush to the cage until the boys move it around of course. The girls’ pan is still strong after quite some time of wear and tear so I might just get another one for the boys.
The litter pan is exactly what I expected, so I have no official complaint; however, my large rabbit hops all the way in and pees over the edge. My problem is not cured as I had dreamt. On the other hand, I use high-back pans for four smaller rabbits, and this style has cured a world of headaches for me.
excellent product, great price, item as discribed, super fast shipping. reccommend to evey pet owner.
When I discovered the Litter Locker I was thrilled. Living in an upstairs apartment, and a far walk to the trash dumpster, I used to scoop my cat’s litter into a brown bag, then place it in a plastic bag, and then toss it in the trash can, and every time I entered the room again (my litter box was in my master bathroom), I would smell that horrible cat urine smell. Then I started putting the brown bags in another trash can in the closet in an effort to hide the smell, but every time I opened the closet door that smell would hit me like a ton of bricks, so eventually I just ended up running it out to the trash dumpster just to get rid of the odor. Drove me nuts. Now that I have the Litter Locker, I place it in the corner next to the toilet, and I swear, they must have used magic when making the plastic used in the refill cartridges, because I cannot smell anything at all, even when sittting right next to it. It’s a wonderful product, and so convenient. Now I only empty the cartridge about every two weeks, and I just change it on trash day so it goes from the Litter Locker right to the dumpster. You will love this product.
