The description says you can use it for rats. My girls chewed through it in just a few minutes. It’s a shame because they did enjoy playing in it, but they easily got out. The hard tubes are a much better choice for chewing pets.
Help answer the question about fun ferret toys
What toys can I buy that would be safe and fun for my guinea pig?
Would infant/baby toys be safe, if so, which ones? (I would supervise of course)Would dog toys, like stuffed animals, be safe? I'm also buying some of those balls with bells fun ferret toys in them for cats, and a 'ferret fun' pack with a ball and wagon wheel that has bells in it. I'm also buying these treat balls that are made for cats, where you put treats in them and they roll them around until they get them out. Would these entertain my piggy, or are they a waste of money? Any other suggestions (I've looked online plenty of times, no need for links, but rather your own ideas) would be GREATLY appreciated!Oh, and my piggy is an 8 month female. :]
If you have a ferret, you should understand that toys are not a luxury but a necessity for them. This may have become apparent when seeing how much they love to play, or just how much they love to play with things you don't want them to. Find ferret toys they like better than your own possessions, and hopefully you won't spend a good chunk of every day trying to find your valuables. The question is then, "how do I choose ferret toys?"
Ferret toys should be safe, durable, and should attract the attention of your ferret. All of these qualities are important, but as the old adage goes, safety first.
Safe ferret toys are not sharp and have little give to them. Many fun ferret toys soft toys are likely to be chewed up and swallowed. The original toy should also be big enough that the ferret can't swallow it without chewing either. No one wants to try the Heimlich maneuver on a ferret.
Luckily enough, most safe toys are durable by nature, so you generally won't have to go out of your way to satisfy this criterion. If you are in doubt, know that ferrets don't know the concept of restraint and will not hold back anything on their toys.
As for attraction, simplicity is not to be overlooked. Some of the simplest toys provide the most fun for ferrets. Think of what kinds of things infants and toddlers are attracted to and you'll be in the right mindset for choosing ferret toys. Shiny is attractive, so are certain noises. If the toy moves around or is able to move around quickly and freely (like balls) your ferret is likely to love it.
It's up to you whether or not you want to consider them toys, but ferrets, like cats, love anything they can climb into. When I say this, I'm referring primarily to boxes and bags. In fact, when shopping for ferret toys, you may want to take a stroll down the cat toy section as they work well for both animals.
If you take a good look around your house or in storage, you may even find that you already have some ferret toys waiting to be named as such. If it would work for a cat or a baby, your ferret may thank you for it.

This is NOT made for creatures who like to chew! My guinea pigs ate half of it in one afternoon & I thought I’d be making a trip to the vet in exchange for my $40!! (I bought two of them to link together)
Also the product is SO flimsy that it just slinks around in circles, does not stay put, and will not go up or down ramps as I had hoped.
Perhaps a ferret would be ok with it, but guinea pigs, hamsters, rats or mice are GOING TO CHEW IT and it is made of some filmy kind of plastic that (besides being ruined) cannot possibly be good for their stomach!!
You’d think the makers of a product FOR ANIMALS would have the animal’s best interest at heart!! Major disappointment!!!
My rats love their tubes (I bought 2)! They chewed a little around the opening but they haven’t punched a hole in them and I’ve had them for 6 months.

I bought this at a clearance sale for 75% off a few years ago; a pet store was discontinuing its ferret products. My first three ferrets wanted nothing to do with it, so I put it away with everything else that they never used. Now those ferrets have passed and I have a pair of one-year olds that have “inherited” the old stuff. They love this thing, and chase each other through it constantly. It’s hard to know what pets will play with and what will just bore them.
I’m returning mine after one day of use.
The box says that it’s fun for “ferrets, pet rats, guinea pigs, and other furry friends”.
The plastic already looked flimsy to me when I took it out of the box, but I trusted the product anyway, since it was especially made for my kind of pet.
My rats chewed a whole bunch of holes in it and there are tiny pieces of plastic throughout their cage.
I’m just hoping they didn’t ingest much. I’m very upset with the company and will email them about this.
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R285MB025H42WK Hi, My name is Alicia. My ferret, Noodle, and I, thought we’d chime in on what we thought about The Ferretrail Bubble Play Kit, via video! Enjoy!
My three rats love it. It’s durable, adjustable, easy to put together. I didn’t like the large ball so I didn’t use it, but the rats like it anyway.
It’s rather large but not huge.
I understand that the way they package and ship is it to be efficient and save space, but it’s a real P in the A to put those tunnels together. They also don’t stay together very well. And when I pick up the whole thing to move it, the tunnels all break off of each other (poor connectors) and I have to re-connect them. So I wish they were better quality in that aspect as well. Other than my own stresses with it, the ferrets love to play in it, so I guess it serves its purpose.
This Ele-fun toy has quickly become a favorite new toy for my pair of ferrets. In fact my ferrets love all the Marshall Sleep-n-Hide toys so far. We also bought the Octo-play octopus earlier last month, which is also a favorite with my ferrets. Because of how much my fuzzy group loved their Octo-play one, I decided to buy the Elephant version. When I opened the package I was happy to see that this was as adorable in person as pictured in the item description! When my ferrets saw this toy, their expressions and antics were priceless. They played with this new toy for over 3 hours before finally snuggling up inside and taking a nap. Since then, this has been a favorite with my girls and I plan on buying the others in the set.
More about the Ele-fun: When I first opened this item, I was surprised by how unbelievably soft the material is. Durable fabric for my chewy little monsters. The size of this item is medium & not as large as the Octo-play, still most suitable for playtime outside of their sleeping cage. Soft pink for the body and vibrant pink for the ears and other accents, felt eyes sewn on securely. Tufted fluffy tail tip, a little tuft of hair on the top of the head and the ears are super crinkly sounding for ferrets who adore crackle sacks and tubes. My young ferrets adore the crinkle ears. The ferret has 2 openings to get inside the Ele-Fun, a large hole opening on the back hip area of the toy and also the large nose/trunk tube which is collapsible which is fun as ferrets love running through tubes. The trunk tube is nice and wide with the adult ferret body in mind. Inside the Ele-Fun is an attached jingle ball made of durable plastic and attached permanently with a white cord loop.
This toy is great for the price as it doubles as both a toy allowing the ferrets to race through the tunnel, attacking the jingle ball, rolling and having a blast while also being a snuggly, warm place to nap after a satisfying play time. Thoughtfully designed with the ferrets comfort and play in mind. Truly an excellent purchase for us and one I would recommend to anyone looking at buying a Ferret sack and/or new toy with room to play as this is a large toy. My ferrets wholeheartedly approve of this item, lol.
PROS:
* Adorable pattern & color.
* Super soft fabric.
* Washable.
* Wide trunk tube, durable fabric for the chewiest monster.
* Double the fun as a toy and snuggle sack.
* Great price here at Amazon, for the quality and features.
CONS:
* None so far. The fabric is holding up to my younger baby ferrets and the pair of adult ferrets. My ferrets adore it. Watch out for sneak attacks though *grin* My fuzzies take delight in popping out of the trunk tube on this toy to attack when they know I least expect it. There’s a reason ferrets are known so affectionately as Carpet Sharks. Be ready for hours of fun and laughing when you bring this toy out.
