Ferret tunnel and cardboard boxes are some toys you can give your pet and keep them happy and amused. You might be thinking twice about purchasing a toy for your pet when you can play with them anytime, and this can give the same effect. You must know those ferrets are naturally playful pets. They love to spend their time moving about and filling their time with activities. Ferrets can sleep up to 18 hours, but despite that long sleep, these creatures will demand a portion of your time upon waking up. The best way to react to this it to either play with them or you can always get help from ferret toys.

Of the numerous toys available, you might be thinking which will be best to buy for your furry friend. Here are some toys you will find useful in entertaining your pet:

Cardboard boxes – Your pet’s skills in running and jumping will surely improve with the help of this toy. Another good thing about this is that it is cheap. In order to get an idea on how this can be used, YouTube has a video of six ferrets playing along a cardboard box and jumping from inside it one at a time.

Furry toys and balls – These toys are perfect in improving your pets fighting and chewing skills. Another thing, this is a tool to improve your pet’s sense of touch. The furry feel of this toy makes you pet think that he is playing with another ferret.

Ferret tunnels – This is best for developing your pets skill in racing and create a competitiveness in them. This tunnel can also be used by your pet for its naps.

After taking note of the toys you can purchase for your ferret, here are other tips you have to remember:

Soft toys are not advisable. A few bites from your pet can destroy and tear apart this kind of material. Since their teeth are very sharp, soft toys can be cut into small pieces in a matter of seconds. Moreover, if your pet swallows and ingests this, it can clog their intestines and this can be fatal for your pet.

Choose only sturdy and firm dog and cat toys for your pet, if this are the types that you desire. Rubbers made toys are usually used by ferrets for chewing. Make sure that these toys are safe for your ferret.

Avoid purchasing toys that can be very harmful to your ferret. Surely you would not want your pet to be sent straight to the vet after handing him some toys.

Toys with colorful prints are the best choice for you pets. The combination of colors is surely attractive for your pet and you as well.

Ferrets are very curious creatures and they will always want to roam free and run about from their cages after waking up. This acts as their daily exercise. Toys can help them keep healthy and energized, and apart from that, it can add fun to their daily existence.

Like every animal or living creature for that matter, ferrets love being involved in physical activities. This can include hide and seek, games of chase, hunt and pounce and others. For your pet to be in shape and healthy to perform this games, ferret toys will be very useful.
