I cut the top off a milk carton and hung it in my ferrets cage and they LOVE it. they climb it all day and I sometimes find two sleeping in it O.O Also put some beans in an empty water bottle and put that in a sock. they love to try to carry it off and crunch on it, or at least mine do. Also a small bag of bells. My ferrets constently steal this thing from each other, and they also love to steal my toy rubber ducky that you could get from a dollar store. ^.^ hope that helps.

I’m an American and I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg in money. How did you build your cage and hammocks. I would love to know because I also think that it is foolish to spend hundreds of dollars on animals.

    @shilohmustang same =/

  • Madaboutspirit:

i gave my ferret a real egg and she had the time of her life with it xD

  • shilohmustang:

I gave my ferrets a squeaky toy they just pushed it out of the cage and never even looked at it again no matter how many times I squeaked it. (no they’re not deaf)

  • emrahh13:

how do you make em’ please tell me ?!

  • WoolyWack:

@ToXiCxMonk3y XxAmayaSanxX is right they cant be with reptiles, birds, small rodents but there fine with cats and dogs.If you get a ferret it wont be such a good idea

  • XxAmayaSanxX:

@ToXiCxMonk3y Ferrets are natural prededors. NEVER let your ferret play with small rodents.

Robert8DS, I am a full time college student and I work about 20 hours a week. I spend a lot of time studying and I am in a play. But my little ferret gets plenty of love and attention. My vet says she is one of the most well socialized ferrets she has seen! You just have to be able to commit to spending SOME time everyday with your new companion! it is terrible to leave ferrets in a cage ALL day

  • freeagentsgirl619:

ughh they dont look very happy lol i have to ferrets i love then sooo muce mine is brodii and my brothers a abe (aberham)

  • drewbprize:

i love my ferrets! i have 3 and they are out of their cage ALL day. one has adrenal gland tumors and is pooping blood. doctors can’t help unless my parents give a lot of money..

  • SuperSaiyanAD:

I just recently got my Hob Castrated, Because of the Odor and to stop his sexual strains,…Quick Question Though..Is it Possible To put another hob (that hasnt been castrated) with one that has
would they still end up fighting during mating Season? or anytime in general

  • PB8TU:

Block off the ferret-proofed area (I use baby gates in my living room to block off the kitchen and hallway) and then just let the ferret out. Something like a crinkle blanket or tubes or squeaky dog toys can keep a single ferret entertained. Then while your ferret is running around you can do homework and they’ll be pretty tired by the time your done and ready for a half hour or so of light playing with you. My two ferrets favorite game is riding on a blanket I drag around or playing under it.

  • PB8TU:

I’m sorry to say this but a ferret may not have been the best choice for you if you are so busy. Ferrets need anywhere from 2-4 hours of attention at least, depending on your ferrets personality. Some are a bit more independent and require less attention. Try ferret-proofing an area of your home, like living room or even a bathroom, by covering areas they can slip into and get stuck, putting baby lock on cabinet doors and getting anything that can be swallowed out of ferret reach. I am thinking about getting a ferret but i dont know if it would get along with my guinea pig

  • Robert8DS:

i just got a 3 month old ferret a couple days ago and i have done lots of research, but i dont know how much to play with it. i am 14 i am in highschool so i am not home during the day and my mom wont play with it. i also have homework and sports after school. please let me know what to do. lots of comments would be helpful, thanks

  • bremstone:

This was very helpful, thanks for the advice, I was wondering why my pounce was nipping at Zoe’s neck. My fiance was worried, her being the “over protective mamma” :D

  • Jaysie803:

it might look like rough play but they just want to establish the dominate one they will dragg each other around for a week or two it shouldnt continue for too long but there is advice everywhere you should watch the Paring up Ferrets video too >>> in the more >>> pet cos are neutered & they have a tattoo behind there ear … But yea just watch some movies or read some info I had a book that I found at a garage sale its helpful but Pet co even knows about them if you get to see the expert.

  • Jaysie803:

Well He will be fine if you do get another one but just to let you know ferrets like to drag each other around by the neck when they first are introduced to each other so the one from pet co might start that or even yours might but i would bet on the one from pet co but the younger the better I had done the same thing but my ferret used to have a friend a year before so he was the one to start the draggin around … …

  • Sh4rpSh0ot3r:

i am thinking of getting another ferret…mine is only 4months old(about) and seems to be ok with it because he LOVES playing with the cats and dog…i got him a a family store and he was alone and at petco(where i didnt get him)they are having a sale on ferrets…1 for $100 and the ones at petco are used to being with others and mine isn’t but i think he’s ready… im only 11 and would be using the rest of my money(except $40) to get another…what do u suggest…i want a TON of answers please.

  • iTouchJailbroken:

Well i know that if u dont have a cage save up but in the meantime try putting him in your room or somewhere in the house where he can play but dont lose him because the go a lot of places so WATCH THEM

  • Sneakinhunterbowmstr:

Okay major question’s if I dont want to buy a cage whats a good subsutite, what kinda sub foods can I give it if they run out of food, how much a basic amount is the normal cost of a ferret with out cost of cage and toys just normal health and food ?

  • Starbuckfsd:

It’s not hard at all!! You’ll love having one or 2. (It’s actually recommended to have at least 2)….The cost for the ferret alone is around $100-125.00 at Petsmart or Petco….Food cost will depend on how much you want to invest in a good diet or not. I pay $30.00 a month for 2 bags of Marshall Ferret Food….
