Pros of ferrets’ adoption

- Ferrets are funny and mischievous animals. You will never get bored with them.

- Ferrets are small. That is why these animals are extremely popular with Japanese. Ferrets may  get in a handbag and go on a trip with you.

- Unlike dogs, ferrets do not require regular walks outside.

- Ferrets get perfectly along with a collar. They forget about it in two or three times of wearing it.

- Although ferrets are known to be nocturnal animals, they can easy get accustomed to the life style of their owners.

- Compared to the cats ferrets get used to their masters. In contrast to dogs, there do not get blindly devoted.

- Ferrets are extremely intelligent, as well as cunning.

- If you have other pets, you may not worry about their coexistence. Ferrets and dogs, for example, especially large breeds, get along very well with each other; they can strongly bind to each other and become inseparable friends.

Disadvantages of ferrets adoption:

- Many people are allergic to the musk scent the animals produce.

- Ferrets have a proctal gland which is used for protection . However, the smell is not long-lasting and vanishes rapidly.

- – Ferrets require much attention when they are active. Therefore it is important to spend a few hours a day with your fluffy It is better to keep children from playing with ferrets if you have no time to watch. Ferrets  bite each other when playing and they as well may bite a human being unaware that our skin is more sensitive.

- You have to be careful with what you feed your ferrets. In this case the nutrition is more sophisticated than for dogs or cats, for example and you have to pay special attention to it. These animals do not eat “food from the table.” Ferrets may even die  if they eat milk, sour cream, cheese, pork, raw chicken eggs, sausage, soups, smoked food, roasted meat, citrus fruits, onions, garlic, spices, salt, spicy, sweet, chocolate.

- One of the most difficult problems associated with ferrets is a toilet. Question of the tray is on the top ranking in all the conferences devoted to ferret. Most ferrets like the ‘Massacre’ in their cages, they start to dig the tray, move it, lumber, wear on their heads and run. In such cases, it makes sense to attach the tray to the cage with the help of the adhesive tape, or drill a small hole, and to screw a tray to the wall of the cage. – High mortality among ferrets is also a result of very few clinics specializing in these animals.

- Playful nature of ferrets may be a drawback as well: like children, these little creatures may wake you up early in the morning, as well as be ‘helpful’ in the kitchen when cooking dinner. The first thing you should remember is the risk you take when adopting a ferret. If you do not feel 100% right about this animal and are not devoted to take care of it properly then you should better give up the idea, since even a single mistake can cost you your ferret’s life!
