the only change i made to this cage, was how i didnt put all the ramps in(only 1), i put ferret tubes in and twist tied them in place. my 13 year old daughter (who’se never put anything together other than a couple bird houses in her life) assembled this, in around 3 hours (with food break, and bathroom break, and a little T.V. watching) she said it was easy, and once you got the bottom shelf done, it all just repeated itself. this is a GREAT price for a cage worth (in my opinion) soooo much more. i love how the floors are solid, so dont worry about covering them, we just have sweat shirts and everything. my daughter painting a big mural of the sky to cover the top of the cage, and the back was trees and hills and stuff. she did exact measurements (the top is 2 feet by 3 feet exactly, the bottom, not including the shelf, is 3 feet by 4 feet) its almost as tall as her (5 foot 1) so i’m guessing its exactly 5 feet. the ladders aren’t too steep, and the actual cage is a lot bigger looking in person. the picture does it no justice. it has locking wheels, and easy open doors, that ferrets can never get out of! the bottom shelf holds everything for the ferrets that we could possible imagine. (old jeans, to cut up for later use, other fabrics, ferret tubes, food, 2 harnesses, 2 leashes, and 2 collars, dental gel, ferretone, hairball remedy, and 2 bottles ferret waste deodorizer, and a big tub of deodorizing cage wipes. oh and the litter. and there is still lots of room, for extra bedding and such. this cage is cheap, but strong, easy to build, safe for the ferrets, and so much more. by the way, they fixed the toenail problem. another way to prevent that, is to simply cut their toenails!!! i just looove everything about it! especially the solid floors, i dont have to worry about my babies hurting their paws. and i love how the dors open all the way, so you dont have to try to puzzle things through. the doors, are the entire width of the cage, so everything comes out easily.

I bought one of these about 5 months ago and it is by far the best. I can clean it easily, ten minutes tops where the last one took an hour or more. I can add levels if I need to. It is super roomy (taller than my 5 feet in height). Very well built. I can’t see how I will ever need another cage. It is that nice. You can also get some custom made covers for the ramps, trays, and other areas. I suggest these because there are some areas I could see a smaller animal getting their foot caught. I used some material I had lying around to cover the ramps. It is easy enough no sewing required. I used a hot glue gun and some velcro and they can be washed. I purchased a nice set for the cage that was handmade and my ferrets love it. They choose to sleep in the cage now where before they would find whatever spot under the couch. You really can’t go wrong with this one.

This cage is incredibly easy to clean and keeps my ferrets comfortable. I had never found another cage I could have been this satisfied with. The floor panels keep their paws comfortable (don’t forget the bedding, though!) and are easy to remove for cleaning because the front doors open fully, achieving the same effect as removing the doors (which is also easy).

I have two ferrets and I ended up removing the top level. All the extra space simply gave them too many tempting corners to do their business in (and they rarely left the top floor anyway). They have never once missed the litter box in the year since I removed the top level! So in my experience I would recommend the single level version for two ferrets. Two levels would definitely be overkill for a single ferret!
