Find best ferret cage on Ebay

I bought one of these about 5 months ago and it is by far the best. I can clean it easily, ten minutes tops where the last one took an hour or more. I can add levels if I need to. It is super roomy (taller than my 5 feet in height). Very well built. I can’t see how I will ever need another cage. It is that nice. You can also get some custom made covers for the ramps, trays, and other areas. I suggest these because there are some areas I could see a smaller animal getting their foot caught. I used some material I had lying around to cover the ramps. It is easy enough no sewing required. I used a hot glue gun and some velcro and they can be washed. I purchased a nice set for the cage that was handmade and my ferrets love it. They choose to sleep in the cage now where before they would find whatever spot under the couch. You really can’t go wrong with this one.
Help answer the question about best ferret cage
Hey all you ferret owner, could you help me with some cage advice?
I've been looking for ferret cages on the internet. I'm not sure what size they need. I know alot best ferret cage of people try putting them in those little rabbit cages and I know better than that but what size is best. Also where can I find affordable cages. Maybe they are all expensive but I can't find one reasonable enough to want to buy. Have any suggestions of where I can get a decent one that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg?

If you own a ferret, or are thinking about adopting a ferret, you need to consider the amount of time that is required for proper
. Ferrets are exotic pets and they are part of the mustelid family. So, they will develop an odor when they reach maturity. If you have no plans to breed your ferret, then de-scenting is a good idea and neutering is a must. De-scenting will help keep their odor under control. Neutering eliminates the potential of any unwanted kits (babies) if you plan to keep two or more ferrets. Your pet will also need to see a veterinarian for vaccinations and regular check ups. Be sure to take any newly purchased animals to your vet for a check up and any necessary shots.
A ferret's diet needs to be properly balanced. Both high quality cat foods and specifically designed ferret food can be found in most pet stores. Check the labels to ensure that the brand of food you choose has at least 35% protein and 20% fat. Ferrets require higher fat levels in their food than cats do. Always ensure that your ferret has fresh water available. They tend to prefer bowls to water bottles and will drink less water if you use a bottle. However, if you're not able to change the water at least once each day, then you might want to consider the use of a water bottle instead.
Safe housing is a must for your ferret. Select a ferret home that is roomy, easy to clean and, of course, safe. Consider the spacing of the bars of the cage. If a ferret is able to push its head through any part of its cage, then that cage is not safe. Also make sure that the ferret's feet can't get caught in any part of the cage you choose. All ferrets like to run around their cage and play in it as well. Make sure you get an appropriate cage so they don't get hurt.
Ferrets love to get a lot of sleep - from 15 to 20 hours each day. And, they like to hide is soft, dark places. Giving them sleeping sacks and hammocks that do double duty for both sleep and play, will make for one very happy ferret. To provide a little private best ferret cage space, and some quiet, too, place a sheet over a portion of their cage.
Be mindful that your ferret just loves to chew things. Check your ferret's cage often to remove anything they might be chewing on that isn't safe for them. If your ferret swallows a piece of plastic or fabric from something it's been chewing on, this could result in a blockage in its intestines and your pet might need surgery to have it removed.
Ferrets can be social animals. Begin to introduce humans when your ferret is about 30 days old. Also, you need to let your ferret out of their cage at least twice a day, so make sure you do so in a ferret-proof room. Never leave your ferret unsupervised while it is out of its cage. They could be at risk of getting hurt.
Handle your ferret frequently so it will be easier to train. Training is a way to help you communicate with your pet. And, ferrets just love to cuddle, too. You can also litter train your ferret. The earlier litter training is started the more chance you have of being successful.
Ferrets are both affectionate and fun. Socializing with them frequently will help to ensure that they are healthier and happier.

Taking Your Ferret Home
There's several things you need to know before you bring your ferret home. First, pick a place where you will keep your ferret. As this is where they will spend most of their time, make sure it is a safe and comfortable area. There are lots of selections available for ferret cages. It's key that they have enough room to run around and have not gaps in the levels so your ferret doesn't get hurt. Soft bedding is also essential for your ferret's safety and comfort. Cages with a plastic bottom are the easiest ones to clean as the metal bottoms ones tend to rust and look grimy after several washings. However, if you purchase a cage that has plastic coated metal, be sure that your ferret is not chewing the plastic. If your ferret ingests bits of plastic this could cause a health problem serious enough to require surgery. Supplying hammocks and sleeping sacks will also make your ferret happier and more comfortable. A ferret often sleeps up to 20 hours per day, so sleeping comfort is important. Remember that your ferrets needs to be out of his cage for at least two hours each day, so be sure to provide a ferret-proof area to avoid any injuries.
Toys are a good idea to help your ferret play. But, choose your ferret's toys wisely. Incorrect types of toys could actually jeopardizes your ferret's life. The toys need to be able to stand up to a ferret's sharp teeth. Ferrets often get along well with cat toys. Don't get any toys that are easily destroyed. It's not a good idea to leave toys in your ferret's cage if you're not there to supervise. Swallowing a piece of a damaged toy could be very harmful to your ferret.
Ferrets have a certain odor to them as they are part of the Mustelid family. Schedule a visit to your veterinarian to have your ferret de-scented and neutered. Your ferret will also need vaccinations and regular exams. Talk to your vet about the best schedule to any shoots and boosters that your pet is going to need.
The kind of food you select for your ferret is of great importance. Always select either premium quality cat for or specially designed ferret food that doesn't contain any protein supplied from frozen meat. If you plan to change the brand of food they were receiving from the breeder do so very gradually. Slowly introduce the new food while also slowly decreasing the previous type of food until they are switched to the new brand. Ferrets don't really need snacks and the wrong type of snacks could cause health problems in the future. However, snacks can be helpful for training your ferret. If you decide to give your ferret snacks, always opt for healthy options such as cooked eggs and meat. Surgary treats are harmful to your ferret, so be sure to avoid them.
Pre-planning is key to ensure you are bringing your ferret to a home that is safe and stress-free, for the both of you.

this is the best cage in the world. with the add on unit it makes it even better. i love the cage and wont get anything else.

This is by far the greatest Ferret cage you can buy! But Please reconsider if you have a Chinchilla or rat!!

I wish Ferret Nation would consider a cage specifically for Chinchillas and Rats. I have both and thought I’d get this cage for them- the rats slipped right through the bars. I’m waiting on the Chins, but after I bought this (of course) I read that the bars should only be 1″x1/2″ apart as they bounce off the walls and may break their legs with larger gaps. Now I have to reinforce this cage. Chins and Rats also chew plastic, which I knew; I plan to replace the pans with galvanized pans (which would be nice if Ferret Nation offered those too)!

FERRET NATION- IF YOU’RE READING THIS- PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A CHIN/RAT CAGE/PARTS THAT IS JUST AS GREAT AS YOUR FERRET CAGE!!!

I purchased my Ferret Nation 143 and it was an excellent buy, my husband and I attached the add on to our 141 in under 10 minutes, all the parts were there and the directions were easy to follow. The add on 143, like the 141 is extreemly easy to maintain. I see cages made of much lighter materials selling for equal to greater $$. The 143 makes the total cage very roomy, making it a great addition for multi-ferret households.
        Excellent value and quality.

I had (4) fuzz butts when my hubby bought me this one.. It was such an amazing imporvement from the previous enclosure I had.. With the doors that open up the whole front of the cage, it is so easy to clean and change out the hammocks, etc. I too saw the potential for little fingers and toes to get caught so I immediately came up with a fleece system that covers all possible places that can get pinched toes.. I also make ramp covers for the ramps out of strips of fleece.. It is so easy to just cut a strip and then poke 2 holes at one end and thread it thru the two top prongs of the ramp and then leave the strip long enough that I can weave iut thru the last few rungs on the ladder/ramp and tighten down on it so it is taught and then they have a nicer ramp to manuever up and down.. I also cover all levels with home made fleece carpeting except for the Litter level which I leave so I can clean it each day..

My girls love all the levels and all the different hammocks and hide outs that I arrange int here for them each week when I change/clean.. I love this Cage and I highly recommend it..

This cage is incredibly easy to clean and keeps my ferrets comfortable. I had never found another cage I could have been this satisfied with. The floor panels keep their paws comfortable (don’t forget the bedding, though!) and are easy to remove for cleaning because the front doors open fully, achieving the same effect as removing the doors (which is also easy).

I have two ferrets and I ended up removing the top level. All the extra space simply gave them too many tempting corners to do their business in (and they rarely left the top floor anyway). They have never once missed the litter box in the year since I removed the top level! So in my experience I would recommend the single level version for two ferrets. Two levels would definitely be overkill for a single ferret!
